Get them Young!
Young children learn language like parrots and this is why we need to expose them to lots of different languages from as early on as possible.
The sounds of Mandarin Chinese are particularly difficult for adults to learn, but children pick them up accurately and instantly. And once they learn them, they never forget them!
All of the Chinese spoken on our audio materials is spoken by native speakers.
Children never see Chinese sounds written in the alphabet so they never learn wrong pronunciations. Instead they learn only the authentic sounds of Chinese.
Conversational AND Written Chinese
Our launch series has 4 books and CDs.
The first book and CD, Learn to Speak Chinese with Pat and Dan, teaches basic conversational Chinese. This book and CD teach children to count and to say ‘Hello’, ‘Goodbye’, ‘How are you’ etc. The children learn through repetition, games, songs etc.
Our second book and CD, Pat and Dan are Pals, is the first of three which teach children to read and write Chinese symbols. These are activity books: children learn how to say the words they are reading, but they also learn to write them, through colouring, matching, and drawing activities.
The other titles of Learn to Read and Write Chinese with Pat and Dan are ‘Pat and Dan in the Forest and ‘Pat and Dan’s Sunny Day’. (Find out more on our Products Page!)
